Communication
Difficult conversation prep
- Write the observable facts in one or two sentences. Leave motives out.
- Name what seems important to the other person, tentatively rather than as fact.
- Choose one thing you genuinely want to understand.
- Decide what you need to say clearly without demanding agreement.
- Choose one realistic next step you could both actually take.
Decision-making
Decision clarity worksheet
- Facts: What do I actually know?
- Assumptions: What am I filling in?
- Costs: What does each option require?
- Values: What matters most here?
- Reversible move: What can I test without locking myself in?
- Deadline: When does a decision actually need to be made?
Self-regulation
90-second reset
- Stop adding new information for a moment.
- Feel your feet, chair or another stable physical contact point.
- Let your exhale be slightly longer than your inhale for several breaths.
- Name three things you can see and one sound you can hear.
- Ask: “What is the next useful action—not the whole solution?”
